FAQ

Does this handle Daylight Saving Time?

Yes when using city names. The tool uses your browser's built-in IANA database, which automatically applies the correct DST rules for every region and year. Switch to "Fixed GMT offsets" mode if you specifically need pure mathematical offsets that ignore DST.

When should I use city names versus GMT offsets?

Use city names (the default) for everyday scheduling. They are friendlier and DST-aware. Use fixed GMT offsets for technical work where the offset is part of the agreement (logging, sync windows, contractual SLAs) and you do not want behavior to shift twice a year.

Are unusual offsets like IST (GMT+5:30) or Nepal (GMT+5:45) supported?

Yes. The fixed offset list includes all real-world offsets from GMT-12:00 to GMT+14:00, including the half-hour and 45-minute variants used in India, Iran, Nepal, Afghanistan, Myanmar, and parts of Australia.

What is the world clock for?

It shows what time it is right now (or for the date you entered) across nine major cities at the same moment. Useful for scheduling meetings or checking whether colleagues in different regions are awake.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. All conversions happen in your browser using native JavaScript APIs. Nothing is transmitted.
